Risk Assessment Summary
Specific chemical substances or a quantitative list of chemicals in a given product are identified by IUPAC and Chemical Abstracts Service Registry Number (CASRN). MJN Associates, LLC generates hypothetical worst-case quantitative estimates of the amounts of assessed material that humans may be exposed to via dermal (skin) contact, inhalation, ingestion or contact with the eyes. These quantitative exposure estimates are then compared to appropriate quantitative regulatory-agency and/or scientific organization designated permitted thresholds of exposure to calculate quantitative extimates of health risk to exposed humans. Results of this procedure are used to determine if the evaluated material will be considered:
- Safe when used as intended and under circumstances involving reasonable foreseeable mis-use,
- safe when used as intended but not safe if used in an unintended manner or
- unsafe when used as intended.
